Views on Mansfield District Council Housing Need
Mansfield District Council has developed a Strategic Development Paper which seeks to provide a context for some of the future decisions the Council may need to take in relation to where new development should be located. Mansfield District Council is seeking views on how to meet the development requirements within the Regional Spatial Strategy (RSS) in terms of providing for 530 new dwellings a year from 2006-2026, (10,600 units) roughly a 25% increase in the number of houses within the District, together with finding land for employment and other facilities. The Strategic Development Paper considers the issues around new development and promotes a preferred approach. The paper also incorporates a simple Sustainability Appraisal in relation to the different approaches that could be taken.
